Caesars Virginia Entertainment Center To Draw Big-Name Stars to Danville
Big names in entertainment — from country stars to comedians — soon will be on a road leading to Danville’s new casino resort, allowing the city to cash in on a new type of tourism. Caesars Virginia will open its entertainment and venue center in Danville on June 6, with country musician Gary Allan headlining the festivities. The Danville casino announced the opening of the 30,000-square-foot space — dubbed “The Pantheon” to continue to Roman resort theme — in a news release yesterday. This Caesars Virginia Entertainment Center will draw even more big-name stars to Danville.
“We are thrilled to open the doors of The Pantheon to our guests and offer this unique entertainment experience to visitors from near and far,” Chris Albrecht, senior vice president and general manager of Caesars Virginia, said in a statement. A total of 11 acts have been announced so far with more on the way. After Allan opens the space June 6, country legend Wynonna Judd is scheduled to perform June 21.

“We are extremely proud of the entertainment offering Caesars Virginia provides, and the addition of The Pantheon elevates that offering to that of any destination casino and resort in the country,” Albrecht said. “We look forward to welcoming these incredible acts to our stage and continuing to add to the world-class talent that will perform at The Pantheon in the months and years to come.”
The center has 2,500 seats and an additional 20,000 square feet of event and pre-function space. Last year, the Danville City Council tweaked an agreement with the casino operator that moved a planned stand-alone entertainment center into a multipurpose space. At a May meeting, council member Lee Vogler said many residents were concerned about the elimination of the separate entertainment venue, something that was part of the casino referendum passed in November 2020. “A big part of what our voters got behind was, I think, that entertainment aspect,” Vogler said, noting that some people may never set foot inside the casino space but would go for the “big events” coming in.
“You are still getting Caesars Entertainment,” Albright said in response, highlighting the company name. Albright explained last year that it as become the norm to have a multipurpose space to provide concerts, comedy shows, boxing events and what he called “world-class meetings.”
